White January: A Reflection on the Importance of Mental Health #2

As part of the activities for White January, CIPA SPSL S.A., Internal Commission for Accident Prevention, held a special lecture for the company’s professionals on Tuesday (14), entitled: “Burnout and mental health at work.”

Guest speaker Suelen Godinho do Carmo, clinical psychologist at the Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS) in the city of Vargem Grande Paulista, in the state of São Paulo, addressed the challenges and opportunities in mental health care, promoting reflection and clarification on the topic to participants. “When we talk about mental health, we are talking about emotional balance. Therefore, it is about developing the ability to manage your expectations and deal with frustrations. When we achieve this balance, we can be more productive at work and achieve a better quality of life,” explained the psychologist.

The psychologist also clarified that mental health is an integral part of the Unified Health System (SUS) in Brazil and publicized the various free services available, including: Basic Health Units (UBS), which can refer patients to a psychologist or psychiatrist; Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS), which offer specialized care with multidisciplinary teams organized according to specific needs; and the Life Appreciation Center (CVV), an entity that provides 24-hour emotional support via telephone at 188 or online chat on its official website.

“White January is more than just a campaign. It is a movement that invites us to reflect on our mental health and take care of it with the same dedication we give to our physical health. At SPSL S.A., we reinforce the importance of initiatives like this for building a more conscious and resilient society,” commented Ranieri Ribeiro, president of CIPA.
